Are there separate memberships for
singles and for families?
No. Temple Emanu-El has only one
category of membership - the
household. Each household membership
is entitled to two adult tickets for High
Holy Day services, a subscription to the
monthly Journal, a discount on School
of Jewish Studies tuition, as well as
other privileges of belonging to this
community. Dues are paid in
accordance with the benchmark dues
policy based on the conscience of the
member.
Can I join at anytime?
Yes. The Temple Emanu-El fiscal year runs from
July 1 to June 30. If you do not join at the beginning
of the year, it is appropriate to review the
benchmark/conscience dues policy to determine a
proper full year dues, consult with a member of the
Membership Committee, and then pro-rate this
annual amount on a quarterly basis to determine the
correct dues for the remainder of the year.
Must I participate in Temple
activities?
No, but . . . The Temple offers a
way for people to make new
friends and grow through
participation in worship services,
study groups, social action
programs and community events.
Volunteers are needed in all
spheres of Temple life and your
participation is welcomed and
encouraged. It is also necessary for
the Temple community to thrive.
