Are there separate memberships for singles and for families?
No. Temple Emanu-El has only one category of membership - the
Household. Each household membership is entitled to two adult tickets
to High Holy Day services (and for children through college age), a
subscription to the Temple bulletin, the annual directory and calendar, a
discount on School of Jewish Studies tuition, as well as other privileges
of membership. Dues are paid in accordance with the benchmark dues
policy based on the conscience of the member.
Can I join at anytime?
Yes. The Temple Emanu-El fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30, with our annual dues
solicitation in May. If you join during the year, it is appropriate to use the
benchmark/conscience dues policy to determine a proper full year dues, through discussion
with a member of the membership committee, and then pro-rate this annual amount on a
quarterly basis to determine the correct dues for the remainder of the current year.
Do I have to pay all my dues when I join?
No. The dues program at Temple Emanu-El allows you to pay on an annual,
quarterly or a monthly basis. You may pay the amount due for the first quarter,
when you join, or any greater amount. You may pay with VISA or MasterCard or
personal check.
