UPDATE ON THE TEMPLE EMANU-EL RABBINIC SEARCH

The Temple Emanu-El Board of Trustees has formed a Rabbinic Search Committee (RSC) that will be responsible for establishing search procedures and ultimately recommending our next rabbi to the Board of Trustees and the congregation. 

We are grateful to the many people who expressed interest in joining the RSC. The roster of thirteen appointed committee members reflects the diversity of our congregation’s demographics, constituencies, and perspectives. RSC membership will include the following Temple Emanu-El members:

The rabbinic search will proceed in two phases: (1) selecting an interim rabbi to serve from before High Holidays 2021 through June 30, 2022; and (2) selecting a settled rabbi to start on July 1, 2022.

A listing for the interim rabbi opportunity at Temple Emanu-El has been posted through the Central Conference of American Rabbis, and we are awaiting applications from qualified candidates. 

Throughout the phases of the rabbinic search, we will work to maintain a regular calendar of services and programs, whether in person or online, as well as continuity of life cycle events.
